For Christine’s birthday, who loves experiences with family, we decided to celebrate on the water by taking a tiki boat cruise with Palapa Tours. It was a beautiful evening when we set sail around 6:30pm with our kids, and Christine’s father Wayne.
We had a great time, and were joined by a bachelorette party during our cruise. The boats have a fully stocked bar, snacks, and the perfect music to set sail. You can charter your own personal tour (private), or hop on board and join others seeking something different, which ties in well with their slogan, “Life Is Too Short For Normal”
We could not have asked for a better night, from beautiful weather, great company, always a smooth ride, and great service from Palapa Tour’s crew!
Mike Karpishka, the owner, came up with the idea after seeing information on tiki boats on Facebook around Lake George back in 2019 and was so curious that he made the six hour drive to learn more, and from there the concept was brought back to the area (with some fine tuning and personal touches). I remember a few years back when Mike was living in Rockland he reached out to me about the idea, and I thought it was brilliant and wanted to be a part of it.
The business grew, despite the pandemic, and grew on many levels when Gaby Saucedo joined him as a business partner.
Both Mike and Gaby are passionate about business, always open to partnerships to expand their brand, and help other entrepreneurs grow. Speaking of growing their brand:
The possibilities for taking a Palapa Tours are endless: celebrate a birthday/anniversary/retirement, date night, work/team building, girls/boys night out, an outing for when family/friends from out of town are visiting. One couple even got married while “tiki-ing”
Needless to say this will not be our last cruise on the Ottawa River with Palapa Tours as the experience could not have been better from start to finish. Click Here to book your tour. Be sure to mention Hot Country 92.5!
