Mario Makes A Stop In Cumberland On Wednesday

Aug 27, 2024 | 4:24 PM

Mario Parent has been walking across Canada this summer to raise funds, and awareness for suicide prevention, and mental health.  He has raised over $5,000 alone through his Go Fund Me Campaign, not to mention in person donations that he has accepted in communities that he has traveled through.

Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 9:00am you can meet Mario, as he will stop by Coolheat Comfort on highway 17 in Cumberland (2591 Ottawa Regional Rd 174) to visit with residents and share his story.  The community is invited to stop by after 8:00am and make a donation.

Several businesses have already donated to Mario’s cause, including Broadway Bar & Grill Rockland who will be providing Parent a meal tonight.

“It’s only natural for us to host this informal gathering for Mario as we’ve done many fundraisers and events over the years for mental health,” said Ray Richer the owner of CoolHeat Comfort.

“Through events such as this one, and others that Coolheat Comfort has organized, we continue to work together to let those suffering from mental illness know that they are not alone, we are here to help.” Said Richer.
