A local brewery is paying homage to some of Clarence Rockland’s rich history.
Eric Mainville, co-owner of Brauwerk Hoffman has announced the release of Rock Lite, a light beer with a low 3.5 per cent alcohol content, as “a thank-you to the Rockland community for their continued support” since the brewery began operations in November 2020.
Mainville explained how a traditional German light beer seemed a suitable tribute to the area’s heritage.
Mainville told the website Vision Clarence Rockland, “local farmers worked hard to clear the wooded area to cultivate this beautiful land.
He said Liechtbier, or ‘light beer’, are traditional beers used as drinks for labourers in fields and factories because of their low alcohol content.”
Louis-XVI Design, a local company, assisted with the artwork concept for the Rock Lite can.
The beer is available through on-site sales at the brewery on Industrial Road and will be available on tap at select bars and restaurants in the Clarence-Rockland area.
