Derrick Scott has been with CHRC-FM, Hot Country 92.5, formerly Jewel 92.5, since the station launched in 2013. He spent the greater part of his time at the station hosting the morning show from 6:00am-10:00am. Prior to that, he worked in radio across Ontario, starting off at the age of 15 in Ottawa, moving to Windsor, London, Owen Sound, Orillia, Cornwall, Kingston, Barrie, and full circle near where he was raised.
You can still hear Derrick on air, on the weekend, and you can certainly see him around town, and his work on the station’s social media pages, and website.
Derrick is responsible for showcasing all the community events on the station’s website, social media, and on air during the “What’s Happening Report” which airs over 30 times a week on Hot Country 92.5, and it’s brother station Hot Country 107.7 – Hawkesbury/Prescott-Russell.
Derrick prides himself on his dedication to the community, helping promote local events, and fundraisers, and working directly with local business owners on advertising solutions that help local businesses grow. If you know Derrick, you know he truly cares about Clarence-Rockland, and knows it very well. He grew up in nearby Cumberland, and remembers Rockland when it was pretty well a village.
Along with duties on with Hot Country 92.5, working on community projects, lending his voice, and creativity, from events to local businesses, Derrick Scott is a proud Board Of Director’s member of The Clarence-Rockland New Chamber Of Commerce. Derrick understand community, and local business and works hard to keep it moving forward.
Derrick wears many hats, including holding the position of Promotions Coordinator for Hot Country 92.5, Hot Country 107.7, Lite 98.5 Ottawa-Gatineau, where you can hear him Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9:00am-12:00pm, and Lite 106.7 Hudson/West Island Quebec.

When he’s not working in the community, with local business owners, or helping a local charity, Derrick enjoys spending time with his better half Christine, whom many have met at events, her daughter Hope, son Brad, his girlfriend Kelly, and his daughter Amelia. Oh and the extended family, including their 3 dogs, yes, 3 dogs. Derrick jokes that he has the most unique dynamics when it comes to family, A Whoodle named Oliver, a Potcake named A.J., and a Shorkie named Phoebe.
